Battle of San Juan Hill (including Kettle Hill)

U.S. Army and Rough Rider forces seized San Juan Hill near Santiago de Cuba after heavy fighting on July 1, 1898.

The assault was a turning point in the land campaign against Spanish forces in Cuba and became a defining moment in U.S. military and political memory of the Spanish–American War.
