Capture of Presidio La Bahía (Goliad) by Texian forces

On October 9, 1835, Texian forces captured the Mexican presidio at Goliad (Presidio La Bahía), securing a key fort and supplies.

Seizing Goliad gave the Texian insurgents a strategic foothold on the Gulf Coast and strengthened their logistical position in the early Texas Revolution, with implications for U.S.–Mexico relations under the Jackson administration.
