Four-Power Treaty signed at the Washington Naval Conference

Delegates from the United States, Great Britain, France, and Japan signed the Four-Power Treaty in Washington, D.C., pledging to consult one another on Pacific affairs and to respect each other's Pacific possessions.

The treaty replaced the Anglo-Japanese alliance and helped reduce tensions in the Pacific, establishing a diplomatic framework that supported subsequent naval limitation talks at the conference.
