NATO-led KFOR peacekeeping force enters Kosovo

Following the Kumanovo agreement and the halt to NATO air strikes, NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) units began moving into Kosovo to establish security and facilitate the return of refugees.

KFOR’s deployment marked the transition from air campaign to on-the-ground peacekeeping under international authority, stabilizing the province and enabling civilian administration under UN Resolution 1244.
