Roosevelt and Churchill issue the Atlantic Charter

Roosevelt and Churchill released the Atlantic Charter, an eight-point joint declaration outlining principles such as no territorial aggrandizement, self-determination, free trade, and disarmament for the postwar world.

The Atlantic Charter articulated Allied aims that helped define the moral and political basis for the Allied cause and later influenced the creation of postwar institutions and decolonization movements.
