Surrender of Corregidor to Japanese forces

U.S. and Filipino forces on Corregidor Island surrendered to the Imperial Japanese Army, ending the last organized Allied resistance in the Philippines campaign.

The fall of Corregidor resulted in large numbers of Allied prisoners, closed U.S. military resistance in the Philippines, and had significant strategic and morale consequences for the Pacific war effort.
