Treaty of Saint‑Germain signed with Austria

On September 10, 1919, the Allied powers and the Republic of Austria signed the Treaty of Saint‑Germain‑en‑Laye, formally concluding the war settlement with Austria after World War I.

The treaty dismantled the Austro‑Hungarian Empire, recognized new states (including Czechoslovakia and the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes), prohibited Anschluss with Germany, and implemented parts of the postwar order that President Wilson had helped shape through his Fourteen Points and the League of Nations negotiations.
