1930 Midterm Elections — Democrats Capture the House

In the November 4, 1930 midterm elections, Democrats won a decisive number of seats and regained control of the U.S. House of Representatives from the Republicans.

The results were widely interpreted as a public rebuke of President Hoover's handling of the early Great Depression and shifted legislative control to Democrats, making it harder for Hoover to advance his agenda.
